We exclusively use Honda Jazz in both Manual and Automatic. A very safe and reliable small car, front and side airbags, very easy to handle with great visibility all around.

Yes. You need to obtain a learner permit. Once you’ve obtained your learner permit (by sitting the learner permit knowledge test), you need to bring it along with you to every driving lesson.
If you hold an overseas driver license and it is current, in order to obtain a Queensland driving license, it is possible you may not need to acquire a Learner permit, please call to discuss 04779 77587

Gain experience on the road behind the wheel. We recommend you look to add supervised driving experience with a fully licensed family member or friend whenever possible to help you reach your goal of obtaining 100 hours safe driving practice.

You must log 100 hours of supervised driving practice, including a minimum of 10 hours of night-time driving experience and have obtained your learner licence for a minimum of 12 months prior to your driving test. You must also pass the hazard perception test.

Absolutely. It is vitally important when choosing a driving school that you know that you are covered. At Essential Driving School, we are fully insured and all our instructors have passed police and working with children checks. Rest assured we have you and your safety covered every time you get behind the wheel with us.
(T&C note: in the highly unlikely event of a crash/collision causing damage to the car or other property where you as the driver in control of the vehicle are at fault, the standard insurance excess will apply, this is clearly outlined in our T&C’s)

Payment is made 48 hours in advance either online with PayPal or by calling EDS with your credit card number. Cash payments are also acceptable

All Lessons are prepaid. So if for some reason you need to reschedule your booked Lesson, a credit will be provided towards a future booking BUT you must reschedule with more than 12 hours to your booked lesson time.
Our Instructors fill their diaries up with the bookings you make. So, if you cancel at the last minute, like you decide to cancel after school if you have a lesson in an hours time (ie; less than 12 hours to your lesson time) the Instructors are not able to recover that lesson and you will forfeit the full lesson fee.
